Notes

This is the first skein of yarn I ever spun! I spun it with a hook made from a piece of hanger wire. This was my introduction to spinning and from there we went on to use drop spindles and we got to try wheels. I didn’t like the spindle spinning as well as I liked using this hook. I kept spinning with the hook until I couldn’t wind anymore onto the wire and I had run out of fiber. Then I plied it by tying one end to the doorknob, unrolling what I thought was half the yarn, tying to another doorknob across the house and then going back where I started. Essentially I folded the singles in half. Then I untied and helped the yarn to ply back on itself all across the room.

I love this skein!!!!

I credit the work I did to spin this by twisting the hook with my ease of learning to spin on the wheel. I had a lot of drafting practice before I ever got to the wheel or spindle.
