Test knit for Babycocktails. Great sweater--love the vintage inspired details.

I am knitting the 34 and had to go down to US 4 needles to get gauge on the Rialto.

I love how Thea’s patterns are always written in a way that allows customization. And since it’s a top-down, I just tried on and adjusted as I knit. I envision wearing this over sundresses and tanks (thus no sleeves beneath it) so I made it fit snug, for a next-to-skin fit. Hopefully I did not overshoot.

3/27/11: Hope to finish the second sleeve today and get it blocking. So happy I’ll get to wear this for Easter as planned.

It’s blocking. The Rialto grew a ton during blocking. Looks way, way too drapey. We will see…

3/28/11: After reading comments on Rialto’s Rav page, I learned many knitters have experienced its melting like qualities during blocking. I also read that many recommended putting in the dryer to snap it back into shape--so that’s what I did. I had no choice, really, as it was nearly 4” too big in body and arm length. But I’m happy to report that, for the most part, it did come back to the correct size. Except the collar, which has lost all body, thus flops too much. I think reknitting it on a smaller needle will help and that’s likely what I’ll do, eventually.

Regardless, I love this little sweater.
