Knit 1.5 inches of 2x2 ribbing in solid colour.

Switch to variegated and knit until (almost) half of yarn is gone.

Switch back to solid to knit toe: knit one round, * k1, ssk, k across, k2tog, k1 * twice. Repeat until 16 sts remain. Kitchener.

Measure length of toe. Subtract from 10” (length of foot) and add afterthought heel (same as toe, also in solid).

Wish the sock had turned out longer, but I reached the halfway point for my yarn.
