June 29: I’ve swatched with 4, 5, and 6 needles and I’m still not getting gauge.
Tried size 7 needles and now my swatch is too big… I can’t win…

June 30: Starting! Decided to go with size 6 needles. Hopefully it will grow just a bit when washed. If not, I have plenty of nieces and it’s bound to fit one.

July 1: Finished clue 1. I love the lace sleeves. I’m thinking of starting a second one in a bigger size.

I worked the section labeled “body” as written and then
Row 1 (RS): k4, p to last 4, k4
Row 2 (WS): k4, p to center sts, purl back and front once, p to last 4, k4
Row 3: k4, k1, *yo, ssk* to last 4, k4
Row 4,6: k4, p to last 4, k4
Row 5: k4, *ssk, yo* to last 5, k1, k4
