I used the second one. The person in the video either twisted her stitches or orients them differently than I do, but in summary, you want to knit the stitch and push your bead through the old stitch as seen in the video. On the wrong side row, you will knit the stitch normally and then catch your yarn under the bead before or as you knit the next stitch.
