Notes

Well, this took much longer that it should have but only because I wasn’t working on it diligently. I made a few slight modifications to the pattern, which in my humble opinion made all the difference.

1 – I got rid of the YO edging, it was too fussy for me and I could just see them getting snagged on things.
2 – Unlike the triangle shawls I’ve made in the past, the pattern repeats in the Moonlight Sonata Shawl start with 41 stitches. To mimic the YOs between the garter edging and lace throughout the rest of the pattern I added them to the begging. This was supper easy. I followed the instructions for the garter and YO edging the pattern calls for but instead of picking up stitches from the garter edge, I picked up the YOs – which are very easy to pick up.
3 – To the final row of the pattern repeats (wrong side row) I knitted the three stitches from the previous row’s double increase. These line up with the beginning of the moonlight motifs of the next pattern rep. I found this gave the motifs a cleaner appearance, but that’s just me.
