I really like the look of the unst lace detail, the scoop neck, and the twisted rib on this cardigan. But, I would look terrible in a cropped cardigan--especially one with a 4” band of ribbing at the bottom. I also find knitting anything larger than a child-sized sweater in one piece incredibly tedious. Oh, and the yarn I’m using is knitting up at a slightly different gauge than the pattern (5.75 sts/inch instead of the pattern’s 6 sts/inch).

So, I plan to follow the pattern instructions for the unst lace bib and the neckline shaping and then improvise everything else. I’m planning to make this not-cropped with a 2” band of ribbing at the bottom, work the whole thing in pieces to be seamed together at the end, and work all my usual shaping in the body.
