Notes

My yarn is, on the whole, probably closer to sport weight than DK, though it’s (rather unintentionally) quite thick and thin in places, so I cast on 100 sts instead of 80.

I also followed Nakstar’s mods and made the bottom of the piece in 1x1 ribbing instead of garter -- except for the side panels, which I kept in garter. I did the ribs on the #4 needle that the pattern calls for, but found the stockinette section very dense, so after the first two rows I switched to #5 needles and liked the fabric much better.

I extended the body by adding 10 extra rows in the stockinette section, and the additional buttonhole to go with that length. I also extended the garter section by 4 rows. It’s still a wittle bitty wee thing!

10-08-11: I bought buttons! Now to choose between two options. One is supercute but too dark; the other, less interesting, and maybe too turquoise. Hmm.
