May 9: Want to knit another fingering weight hat, so I started swatching for Regina. Need to find the right needle size for the main pattern.

For the ribbing: 2.5 mm needles
For the stitch pattern: Like the gauge and fabric on 3.25 mm needles. Gauge is about 3” = 22 sts in pattern

1st attempt:
Added 2 extra repeats to stitch count and the ribbing turned out way too big and stretchy. But it in time out for a few weeks and ripped out.

2nd attempt:
Cast on with the original stitch count, and knit the ribbing as written. Wanted a slouchier hat then that stitch count gave, so knit one row. Increased enough stitches to add an extra crown repeat. It is the perfect amount of slouch! Love this hat.
