I found the pattern to be tricky to follow in English. I’m not sure if I love where I placed my eyelet holes. I used the pattern to cast on and mark out my sleeves and then I sort of made up the rest. I love how it turned out. I began this as a way to use up a stash yarn. I had the fabric stashed as well and they happened to go well together. I intended it to be a play dress for the summer but it turned out a lot sweeter than I expected and I think I’ll end up using it both for play and nicer events. I can’t wait to make another. It knits up fast and is so versatile. I’ll probably add a different lace repeat next time or center a lace motif.

Also like to knit it in the round. I added a placket to the back of the skirt and then constructed the gathers by measuring a piece of clear elastic to fit the bodice and finishing the top and placed the gathers by serging the elastic to the top of the skirt while stretching. Then I hand sewed this to the inside of the knit in a whip stitch. The result is that the skirt can stretch with the knit and could accommodate being pulled over a head eliminating the button bands and the placket (and all the purling). I haven’t purchased buttons yet.

The colors in the photo are oranger than real life. I’ll try to get a better picture in daylight. The yarn is the same that I used for my fifi to give you a better idea and the cotton is shown here as a skirt for my girls.
