Each sleeve took about 6g of yarn. Rini is 6 weeks old, and I estimate she weighs just short of 5kg. Each 6” tie took me 60 rows of 2-stitch I-cord. Will add rest of my notes/mods in a few days.

After much-much swatching, current gauge is finally near needed gauge at about 30-30.5sts/4” on Addi Lace US1/2.5mm needles… which will work out nicely to give a slightly bigger size without much calculations (and hoping it won’t grow during blocking)…

I got a skein of this amazing yarn as a gift from my favorite yarn store, and I’m really happy I was able to find the perfect project for it!

Notes:
Easy to knit, and soft! Pompoms made out of cashmere are plush and squishy--I want to make more! Like some others, I did the lace pattern from Elizabeth Zimmerman’s February baby sweater instead of the original lace pattern. Other mods:

• plain stockinette top
• made the ties 7 inches rather than 6
• made a straight sleeve rather than a gathered sleeve, and only did 6 rows of garter stitch on the sleeve borders rather than 12 rows
• knits sleeves in the round
• did the garter stitch border in the round with mitred corners

As others have noted, the yardage requirements are way off; I made this sweater, complete with pompoms, with just under 400 yards of laceweight yarn.
