Notes

Pattern Notes:
Making this in stockinette instead of garter, because I don’t feel like dealing with purl rows and I think the yarn would shine better this way.
The pattern is really easy to follow, though the beginning was a bit wonky for me, and might go back and try to redo or adjust things. The only thing I wish the pattern also included is a way to deal with loose stitches/holes where the two colors change. I figured out my own way in the end, but it would have been helpful to have some sort of suggestion/instruction off-the-bat for those who don’t deal with color changes often.

Yarn Notes:
I’ve bought these two yarns together with the idea of combining them into a single project one day. Well, here’s a project!
Will need to swatch and play around with needle sizes, since I’m using a bulky weight yarn and I don’t want it to be too dense, but not too “lace-y” either.
The yarn is absolutely luscious and spongy, and great to knit with! I actually can’t believe I’ve waited this long to use it, and is now on my “must-buy-more” list. (Maybe a sweater for me? ^.^ )

March 10:
Decided to use US11 needles, which is giving me 12sts and 17 rows in 10cm gauge, pre-block, and a really nice consistency.

March 25:
Ran out of the first skein of blue yarn midway through the “8 rounds of color A,” which means I was able to knit a bit over 2950 stitches with one skein of yarn. The first skein of yellow ran out during the first row of “8 rounds of color B,” which amounted to about 2750 stitches knit. If my calculations are correct, this would mean that I’ll have enough yarn in total to be able to finish “10 rounds of B” and have enough of the blue yarn (color A) to do about 4-5 rows of edging.

April 29:
The blanket has been done and in use for a while, though I still have some ends to plug in… ooops.
In the end I had enough blue yarn to make a 6-row garter edge, starting with a knit row, and just enough yellow yarn to do a slip-stitch crochet bind-off in the end (used 9mm hook).
