Shell Cottage (link contains spoilers to book 7) is the little house by the sea in which Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacourt live.
While I was thinking about some pun with the name of the colourway & the pattern, this came to my mind. It just fits.
Mods:
- Cast on 143 sts (+11 - > one repeat) because it was too small the first time
- 15 rounds of ribbing as opposed to the 10 rounds in the pattern
- 5 repeats heightwise

Finished it yesterday. For the 2nd time. The first time I finished it was a fortnight before, and I discovered it was too short. Yeah.
So I asked LadyCartwright if she could pick up the stitches below the decreases to re-start it, and boy she did. I was able to add another repeat and now it’s perfect.
It’s squishy, looks fabulous and I don’t want to take it off. LOVELOVELOVE!

This is going really fast. I think it might work out with 4 repeats of the lace&cable pattern heightwise. I wouldn’t want to hat to be too slouchy…

Yeah. I caved, frogged it and started with 11 sts. more. Also, I used the 2,75 mm needles for the ribbing and the the body. Should be better now.

Uh-oh. I tried it on and it might be too tight. Should’ve cast on more stitches for one more repeat. A lot of knitters mentioned this before. This is weird, because I used about the same amount of stitches and a 2.25 mm needle for Fresh Leaves and it is a bit too big. Seriously. Weird.
Thus I will add one (or even two?) more repeat(s) of the lace & cable pattern and hope for the best when blocking. I’ll try to get more width when blocking it. I can’t frog it right now. I can’t.
Apart from this issue it’s a great pattern, and the yarn is lovely. It’s not too busy and shows off the cables really well.
