In retrospect, things that I’d do different the next time:

• three-needle-bindoff on the arm seams
• weaving in ends on the go (seriously. this.)
• blocking the lace (no use bein’ lazy)
• use a smaller needle on the ribbing

But apart from that, I’m utterly in love. And it’s my first “real” clothing item! Yay!

Cast off and all ends sewn in! The baby currently is taking a bath. Can’t wait to have it all pinned out Or even dry and ready to wear!

My coworker took the exact measurement today. I still need 12 cm, but that’s not that much. I might be able to make it. I’m usually knitting more rows than my daily goal.

Instead of starting something new for NaKniSweMo I decided to finish this baby instead and make November my personal “Finish a cardigan” month. Plus I’m having startitis and I can only start something new when the big thing is through.
So in order to ease me into actually doing this, I measured the current length and determined the length given in the pattern. Looks like I have 16 cm left to knit. (I will re-check my measurements regularly because I’ve had them differ a lot before.) Then I loked how many rows make up a centimeter. There I really had some difference, but the average was 3,5 rows, so I went to it.

3,5 cm x 16 cm = 56 rows (give of take).

November has 30 days, so if I knit 2 rows each day, I’m done! And tonight I already made 4, so go me!

27 cm done, 15 cm to go. I started the new skein a few rows ago.

Whew, this growing sloooooow. I’ve done 22 cm out of 45 cm, so 23 more to go. And then some ribbing, and then some picking up stitches aaaaaaaall the way around. But it fits and I love how it looks!
Oh, and that pic on the hanger - THIS IS STILL THE SAME DARK PURPLE SKEIN! This is crazy. Seriously.

And the second sleeve is done. BAM.
Picking up the stiches under the arms was a bit difficult, and yes, it looks a bit messy – but hey, it’s the arm pit region. I have a lot of ends there that need to be sewn in, so I will make it looks better when I’m doing that.
Also, I now know how to make it better next time.

I finished one sleeve tonight! Yay! At the beginning of the grafting, the yarn snapped. Must’ve tugged too hard on a thin spot. But I soldiered on, and then undid the beginning and re-grafted. It’s done now and I’m very happy.
One sleeve to go!

Almost through the short row section. The short rows keep getting longer and longer, this somewhat mocks their name :)
I really like how the colours look like together!

Finished the lace inserts today. I knit them on 2,5 mm needles because I liked the fabric more. Also, the other projects seem to have a tighter lace part and I figured it must be for a reason. In total I knit 10,5 repeats of the lace pattern, mainly because I couldn’t bear having an incomplete lace repeat :)

Gauge pre-blocking:
3 mm - 24 sts.
3,5 mm - 23 sts.

Gauge post-blocking:
3 mm - 23,5 sts.
3,5 mm - 22 sts.
