Notes

I made some changes to this scarf and turned it into an ascot because I like the neat knot that shows both front lace panels.

  • CO 31 stitches

  • did 4 lace repeats

  • switched pattern to the chain lace mesh from But I’m Biased pattern

  • the ascot knot is done by taking all the odd number stitches in front needle, even numbered stitches to back needle, knit these two pieces separately for 2.5-3” (?) then join the stitches back to one needle in original order.

  • the ascot is knitted from both lace panel ends and then I joined the two pieces when I ran out of yarn using Kitchener stitch (ending both panels in WS row). It worked like a charm- can’t tell the join at all. I used exactly one skein, and it’s just the right length. Will definitely knit more of these in the future.
