Notes

My grandma passed away October 11, 2010. I think my cousin and I will continue to add to the bouquet, as a remembrance. Right now though, it is very hard to think about.

Because my grandmother moved into an assisted living facility, she could no longer have a garden. No matter what shape she was in, she always maintained the most beautiful flowers when she lived on her own. So, to give her a bit of garden back, my cousin (link to her project page) and I conspired to knit her a bouquet of flowers. I have no idea how long it is going to take us to finish, but we delivered a vase with eight flowers completed to her this summer, and will add them as we go until it is completely full.

Flowers to date:
Tulip: 3
(Noro Kureyon Sock, Malabrigo Silky Merino x 2)

Floribunda Rose: 2
(Malabrigo Silky Merino)

Chrysanthemum (crochet): 1
(Malabrigo Silky Merino)

Flared Rose: 1
(Noro Silk Garden Sock)

Hollyhock: 1
(Dream in Color Smooshy)

Dahlia: 1
(BMFA STR Lightweight)

August 10: Hah! Crochet you will not defeat me! Did both the Mum and Flared Rose. I like the Noro for the rose. Even the bottom side of the flower looks good…like a psychedelic sunflower.
