Notes

I couldn’t find the yarn mentioned in the pattern here in town so I have been trying out different yarns. Most of the types I tried were either two small or they split so much I wanted to hurl it across the room. I went to INUA and picked this yarn out of the types they recommended and I’m loving it. I also bought some birch Brittany dpn’s. The packaging for the needles makes a really nice bookmark also :O)

I plan on making crew socks.

DAY 2 - I repeated the ribbing section with line of purl twice and decided to go on to the heel.

okay, I have now rounded the heel and am working the foot. Things got a little hairy while working on the heel but now things are going fast and easy. Thanks Monica for your help. I discovered the Brittany needles weren’t so great. Maybe it’s just me being new at making socks but the birch needles seemed really springy in my hands and I was worried about breaking them. I wished I had used metal needles while I was working on the heel. Anyway, two of them broke on me while knitting and dropped some stitches to make things especially frustrating for me. I replaced them with bamboo clover needles and they are so much sturdier.
