I gave away the orange one that stunk so badly when wet…Yeah! I like the pattern though so I think that my Kone of the Bulky wool doubled would be perfect for this:-)

I am washing and blocking the pieces as I go…Yummo! Soft, thick, cozy…This is going to be a great coat:-)

Leila is making me toggle buttons for this baby too.(She has a new button business!) I can’t wait to see what she comes up with:-)

The body is done! All that is left is the hood and pockets.

Now… how to do the hood… I have to do it separately and sew it on because it will need to be washed and blocked before attaching it to the sweater. (Maybe prewashing the pieces wasn’t such a grand idea?) The thought of having to wash the whole sweater after sewing didn’t appeal to me either…but I guess I could have done it in the washer…. Still could…. hmmmmmmmmmm

Jan. 25th

The hood is almost done… I had to rip it out and start over as my idea fell in the toilet but it’s looking great now! (I’m doing it all in one piece. I have know idea why anyone would want to do this in 5 separate pieces? I guess it is just easier to explain…?)

Leila has been inventing buttons/toggles for me for this coat and they are almost done:-) 1/4 moon shaped toggles are going to be fantastic!! I can’t wait to see them on the coat:-))

One more pocket and I can call this one a done deal!

It’s done! Now just a few ends to sew in and buttons to add when I get them:-)

I honestly can’t believe that the buttons are pretty much on the way!? I took almost a year finding buttons for my other coat and I still didn’t like them…I settled!

So I was wondering how I would wash just the hood and not have to deal with washing the hole thing. Double sink seems to work! LOL! (How lazy is this!!!??)
