Part 2. (Part one is here.)
Again Jarred, black ink on white paper = good. light grey ink on white paper = not so good!
So glad that I really don’t have to read/find all the instructions on this one as it’s still firmly planted in my brain.
Changes to make it more manly.
- No waist shaping.
- Higher start to the v-neck, buttons further spaced out.
- No belt.
- Not as wide a collar. (I made Pt 1’s collar wider than recommended and it’s perfect for her sweater… just not terribly manly.)
April 22
Sleeves are almost done. I left them live incase I need to make them longer…since I will be doing the fronts differently I may need to alter them to suit.
- Sleeves knit flat to ensure gauge consistency. (It’s much easier to block this way too!)
May 20th
Body and one front is done. I am working the back… There’s a light at the end of the tunnel!
Knitting 2 of these back to back is a bit monotonous and a bit more effort is needed to stay focused and on task!
May 23rd:
<del>As I said earlier, I set the sleeves aside to check size, and discovered that there is an error in the instructions. It states to knit decreases every 4th row 5 times (For the largest size. This is where I set them aside, just before the angle part.) and it should say 7 times. I had put a marker on each set of decreases and had done all 5… I needed 8 more rows to equal the length of the fronts and to get the right stitch counts! So I am pleased that I waited to finish them :-)
Never mind… seems I knit the sleeves one size smaller than the body! User error! :-(
All that is left now is to sew, button band and pockets!
Not going to wash the sweater until all the details are done this time! One wash…
- No body shaping.
- Started the V-shaping at the underarm split and decreased every 4th row till I was down to the same 3 stitches. (Same number of neck decreases but just closer together.)
- The collar increases, starting at the V, every 10th row 10 times. (40 stitches increased.)
- see part one for how I did the collar as I am doing it the same way by picking up all the stitches first and knitting the button band/collar on.
- I will do pockets as well.
#Done! :-)
587 grams used.
