Notes

I need a project that I can knit up at night when DH is home. (Working on a sweater for him for his Bday in Aug. and I am trying to make it a surprise. TRY…)

Ok, giving this pattern another go with a heavier yarn! It’s much better now and should get a decent size shawl now! :-)

Knitting this up for the second time is making the pattern go a little faster! Chart A, B and C done and am on to Bobble Central! (SO glad that I learned how to knit backwards for my Entrelac adventures! Bobbles are much easier when you don’t have to keep turning your work!!!)

  • I think Jarred got a little lazy with this pattern though! He should have charted out the mirror image for the second side! It doesn’t quite look balanced!
  • There is no need to break the yarn for the knit on edging! Just use a cable or knit on CO for starting the edging!

There are several comments on project pages about a “crooked spine”. The spine on mine is straight (Most projects have a nice straight spine!) and the only way that I can see it going crooked, like some of the photo’s show, is USER ERROR! The edges of the chart, especially chart D, are worked differently than the main repeat and if you are not paying attention to the counts, it would be very easy to miss this and end up with a crooked spine! DO NOT assume that the beginning and the end of the rows are worked the same because they are NOT!

Edging is all that is left and I have had 3 false starts! Those double yo’s seem to be messing me up? Today is another day though and will give it another go!

Bobbles, apparently, are not my thing! I can’t for the life of me get them to look nice? I hope washing and blocking sorts this out and makes them look nicer!!

Seems bigger bobbles are the way to go… maybe it’s just my yarn choice but 4 stitch ones look much nicer!

  • k, p, k, p. Turn. Purl the 4, turn, knit the 4, turn, slip 3 back to the left needle, k3t and pass last stitch over. (Love knitting backwards!)

I’ve got about 7 more repeats to go…. I have a love/hate relationship with knit on edgings.

I can’t wait to wash and block this out!

Washed and blocked and SOOOO gorgeous! The yarn is very scrumptious and soft…but not too soft! Just right :-)

My small bobbles are still a disappointment but I am glad to have the bigger ones on the bottom edge.
