OK, it’s not quite right… trying again but best take some gauge measurements before I frog.

1 full repeat of lace = 2 inches long (16 rows) and 1 3/4 inches wide. (10 st.)

3 repeats plus 3 edge stitches = 5 1/2 inches wide.

24st. and 32 rows.

16 rows of garter st. = 1 1/2 inches

April 8th

All done and imho cute as heck! I compromised on the design and took the garter stitch out of the lace pattern. General consensus was that the lace was too busy for the collar, and I agreed. The lace looks even better without the garter stitch blocks:-)

I have made the collar flat so I can adjust the collar size with a couple of buttons. I thought this would give more flexibility for sizing… all babies are not the same size and this will make it easier to grow into. This could be worn as a shirt for a toddle too.

Now what size is it? Will it fit a 6 month old? 1 year old? I have no freaking idea? I have got to get me a life size doll or something? LOL! According to other patterns that I have sifted through for clues, it should… but the arm holes are the iffy part…It’s hard to gauge with this style?

So it’s off for a hot bubble bath!
