970 grams to start with. (I have excess from the other VD I started and frogged, somewhere else!)

May 18th.

This is coming along swiftly! LOVE, LOVE THIS YARN!!!

I made an extra increase yo, on the fronts to add more width to the fronts to help cover up those puppies and I hope that it’s enough.

I have just completed the first set of short rows (German short rows again! :-) and they are invisible in this sproingy yarn and I am very pleased!!

I will need to add some extra length, especially on the fronts, but am not sure how I will accomplish that yet.. Might have to do an extra radial set of increases just on the front… Is that doable? Short rows from the side marker in? Life line… must remember to put a life line in…

June 25th

Finished the body and am working on the sleeves. Doing 3/4 length sleeves on this one. She’s quite short and I think it will suit her better. (Besides, I keep pushing up the sleeves on mine!)

I only made 3 lower radial increases and then I added some length to the fronts by doing 2 sets of radial increases on the bottom with short rows. (Knitting just the fronts, building them from the opposite direction.) She’s really short in the body so I don’t need a ton of length in the back. (5’2”)

July 4th

Seems I am done with the knitting so will spend this rainy day sewing in a few ends and washing it.

Gosh, I sure hope she likes it? I can always change the sleeve length for her but that is about all I can change at this point!

Before washing:

Sleeves: 14”
Arm length: 22.5”
Underarm to hem: 15”
Full length: 23” (24.5” hanging)
Chest: 17” (? It’s hard to say exactly because of the fullness/drape of it!)
Diagonal flap, from collar to tip: 18”

After a bath: (Hand washed in HOT water, 3x’s, rinsed 3x’s, and tumbled dry on med. heat till damp.)

Sleeves: 13.5”
Arm length:22”
Underarm to hem: 14”
Full length: 24”
Chest: 17.5”ish
Diagonal: 19”

359 grams used:-)

The yarn washed so nicely and still has a gorgeous silky sheen and drape of silk! It’s just lovely!!

Gonna give it a quick steam block and take some pictures and send it off to Nancy-pants. (Steam does wonders to finish off an item!:-)

I might try to find her a nice broach to wear on it… it is our 50th after all! (I’d like to find her a nice shawl pin but I don’t think that will happen where I live…

Now, do I have it in me to make a matching one for me?

Picture 5 is before washing.
