Notes

Ta-dah! Did it! Finally bought the book - which is really, really nice just as an inspirational picture book and which has loads of nice fotos and patterns!

Nov. 11th:
Looked for the pattern I considered to be the most basic for a non experienced fair isle virgin, which is no. 8, a simple alternation from checkered squares. Did only use it in the non-increase sections, to start with. Used a semi-solid red which I quite like! Still need to wait for more white sockyarn to arrive. Will DEFINITELY make more!
It took me app. exactly two halfs of the soccer match Germany-Ukraine (where Germany reached a 3:3 with a lot of luck…)to finish this, i.e. app.2 hours. I used ordinary polyester fill to stuff it (Zauberwatte).

Nov. 12th
Second finished, it is No. 17, Selbu. I am not really fit in crossing the yarns when there are more than 3 stitches inbetween, I somehow knit them through the backloop then as I wrap the yarn differently - well… Took me again about 2 hours. This time I filled it when the opening was still bigger, with 40 stitches in total.

Nov 18th
Did the one with the hearts - which was the first one with pattern inbetween the decreases gnaaa - which is why I left out the hearts on top.

And did the one with the rendeers, first one with white as a background colour. Still tension is not really good and they look quite bumpy - however, there is some progress, I am getting along better with weaving the floats. But progress is much slower than I hoped!

Update Dec. 25th: Send all of them to my brother who has a huuuuuge tree - and a very active Berner Shepherd called Ella who - up to now- failed to destroy this type of julekuler with whip of her tail…
