Okay, it’s serious now… I started crocheting a DOILY!!
But I really like how it looks so far, especially in this self striping yarn. Though the pattern is normally written for Sockyarn, so this will be huge when I have finished - what you see is app. up to round 14 or so… But it is really a lot of fun and I like the somehow “rustic look” a lot.
Sep. 5th: Finished - and I LOVE it! I am still trying to convince dear husband (who is strongly opposed to CROCHETED DOILIES ON OUR FURNITURE!) that we keep it, as I think it looks great on our pine tree Ikea-style furniture, and I really like how it turned out… I added some of my Schachmayer Eco Cotton and left out the last two single crochet round and guess what - I just even was able to finish with the light grey yarn, just app. 7 cm left to weave in!

I also like the mandala type construction and I am already thinking about trying a similair one designed by myself…
