Notes

swatching with Plotulopi. I have 4 colors, but not much contrast. 2 blues, gray, white.

I decided to only use one-color motifs, and I think it looks OK (on the sleeves anyway). I am not sure about the yoke, but I can swatch again for the colors when I get there. Off to knit long rows on the body without colorwork…

Finished the sleeves and the body. Now to join everything together for the yoke, and to my horror I only now notice that I did not cast on enough stitches for the body. I am 10 stitches short. I already felt like this was coming out small…
What to do now?

January 20, 2018

I solved the 10 stitches short by slipping only 11 stitches for the underarm instead of 14. So at each underarm I have slipped 5 stitches less then as in the pattern. I’ll have to solve this when grafting the underarm, but I think that will be possible.
I used 2 Grays and 2 blues, so my sweater looks quite different from the original. Very happy with the outcome. Because I don’t close my cardigans anyway, I decided to do 3 buttonholes on the top of the cardigan only. Now to find just the right buttons.

Added: I used the one-row-buttonhole as described on Ysolda Teague’s blog. I really like this one, because it’s firm and strong. I was a bit worried with the yarn being fragile.
