The challenge in the Dutch sockknitting group is ‘inspired by Art’, and I love this picture by Gaugin. I think it matches my yarn!

Started with 2mm needle over 70 stitches. I did not manage to do the crochet cast-on, must try that again with bigger needles…
As this already came out rather wide, I only increased to 72 stitches. Bascially I went from size L to size M after the cuff. I switched to 1.75mm needles after 4 pattern repeats on the leg (I am a loose knitter!).

I only have 15gr of the dark navy after knitting the leg and gusset of the first sock. I plan to knit the leg of the second sock, and then see how much yarn I have leftover. Maybe I will do very random stripes of the navy on the feet, or knit the feet in one colour?

I ran out of Navy 10 rows before the toe, so it looks on the 2d sock as if I knit a very long toe, but I didn’t…
