See this is why I have to write things down, as my notes don’t make any sense at all now… !!
Chest
Black Welsh Mountain roving. Slightly thicker and stiffer in texture.
I have now spun and knitted the Chest in Welsh Wool, in a mock cable pattern which I spotted on Create and Craft when I tuned in on Sunday. I have heard of it – but this particular way of knitting it, I haven’t come across before and can’t find it by googling…
So knit a few stitches (I chose threes, because that worked with my number of stitches).
Put your right hand needle between stitch three and four, wrap wool around on the wrong side of the work, and pull through a new – false – knit stitch.
Keep this stitch on right hand needle, knit three more, and then cast off, by carrying over the “false” stitch over the the three.
Knit three stitches, and then repeat
I then knitted three rows in stockinette stitch, and then repeated this, using the alternate “three” stitches. – It then resembles a smoking stitch, and also reminded of brooks bouquet in weaving.
