On why I frogged:
The needles I used are .75 mm larger than the pattern calls for (I’m a fairly tight knitter), but I don’t like how the fabric is coming together, the stitches are way too open for my taste. (The pattern doesn’t really give a gauge either, so I have no idea what I’m aiming for)
Besides that, I made a boo boo on one of the cables (on the top picture the 2nd bump from the top on the left side of the right column of cables is crooked as I moved the cable one stitch to the right three rows before I should have.
On the name:
I have never really gotten the hang of knitting on DPN’s, the first 20 rows of this project made me tense up so much that I got a horrible headache!
After that it got better. Here’s to hoping I’ll get the hang of it, and manage to find the discipline to finish them while I get better at wrangling 5 pointy sticks.
I’ve always compared knitting on DPN’s to trying to tickle a grumpy porcupine.
On the project:
Same as my brain cycle beret, a way to keep my hands occupied during a course that is slightly too boring to keep my mind busy enough to pay attention, and not boring enough to get away with paying no attention :)
Note to self
20 rows (minus one stitch) including cast on row before I started the cable chart.
