Notes

9/7- Blocked and it looks great. It added some length to body and arms which are just the right length know. I bought some 1’’ buttons, beautiful pearl white but they are too small. So I purchased a 3/4 ‘’ wooden dowel and plan on making some toggle buttons in a deep brown. I hope to complete them this weekend. Will blog about the making here: www.gruenetree.com

8/10: Done- Just need to block and add buttons (which I haven’t found yet. Torn b/t glass and leather). I even ripped back the first sleeve again after I tried my below therories on the second cuff and liked how it turned out. I ended the moss st on row 1 after I knit to 15 in. and then started with a purl row on the garter cuff. After I had 4 garter ridges on the right side, ending with a purl row, I bound off. This made my bind off flush with the last garter ridge and very neat. I made my belt 150 sts only because I want to knit it already and that seemed long enough. It was. I also made my top 4 button hole 4 sts apart and the remainder 5 sts apart as per pattern. I did this because I wanted a button b/t my breasts to prevent bust gaping. In the pattern pic, the button is right above the models breasts. I also wanted to mention that this jacket has a good bit of ease. I measure 36 in. across the fullest part of the breast and I made the 34’’ and it fits great. It is big n comfy but still fitted. This is just a feel good jacket!

8/6: on second sleeve. I have ripped back my cuff on the first sleeve once and will do it again. The first time I started the garter stitch with a knit round but that threw off the moss stitch look. I started it again with a purl row which put me in a better position to knit 8 rows and have the bind off on the correct side but still threw off the moss stitch. I will rip it back again and add another inch (I like a long sleeve) and start the cuff after Row 1 or 3 of the moss st. instead of after 2 or 4 like previously. Just started 5th ball, am at elbow of 2nd sleeve.

8/3: I am on the border of the bottom and just finished my third ball. This is so fast, I can’t believe it. I am loving it too.

8/1: I am a few rows past the waist shaping and 2.5 balls in. This is going so fast. I really love this pattern, the yarn weight and the yarn. The fit is perfect: a little fitted but also with ease for comfort. This will be perfect come fall and winter. The texture is great too. I have never enjoyed Moss st so much. Plus the cardi is going together really quick. I should also add while I am gushing that I love raglan!
