Feb. 2011 A quick beret, as per Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Tam ‘O Shanter recipe in Knitting Without Tears. I like the subtle femininity of the picot edge — not frilly, but just a touch of girliness for a simple winter hat. I used her big, slouchy instructions, partly because that is popular right now and partly to hide my long hair under it. This hat is going to be great with my navy winter coat; love the heathered grey-blue!
