Boyfriend requested this scarf so there was nothing for it but to start knitting it, just for him. Have picked out the yarn together, in red and black.

Followed the invisible cast on recommended by shroon7 on their project.

Modifications:

• Cast on an extra 4 stitches (2 in each colour) so sides could be purled & slipped (I tried the no twist slip stitch edge look and was not a fan).
• Knit 4 rows (instead of 2).
• Changed text to read “May the force be with you” (read on both sides)
• Added R2D2 and C3PO
• Spaced out millenium falcon and death star panel
• Added an extra panel following death star
• Changed text to read “Do or do not, there is no try” (read on both sides)
• Turned blasters the other way, so they are shooting at the light side (they should also have been mirrored at the same time - drat!)
• Ended up being 178cm long & took 2 and bit skeins of red yarn and 2 and bit skeins of black yarn.

Progress:
20/09 Got to the pattern part and was missing 4 stitches. Have restarted, a chance to relearn the cast on. I could remember the cast on and knit 5 rows of the first pattern. Currently its ca 10 minutes per row which works out to mean this project will take roughly forever.
30/09 I have now done the first three pattern types.
15/11 4 panels done
22/11 5 panels done (Bobba Fett)
10/12 6 panels done (Fighters)
11/12 Started the text. Have decided to do “May the force be with you” non-mirrored. It’s headache inducing but I managed to save the three stitches I had gone wrong. Very proud of myself!
23/12 Finished the non-mirrored text. Need to upload pictures.
26/12 I have done some calculations, Scarf will not be long enough so I will be adding R2D2 on one side (to be linked) and the imperial droids on the other side. Pattern courtesy of Pokemon purl.
04/01 Done with C3PO and R2D2.
14/01 Done with millenium falcon. Small fighter coming up now.
31/01 Halfway with the death star

12/03 Started on the third image. More than 2/3 of the way with all my mods!
14/03 Mirrored text done (“Do or do not, there is not try”)
16/03 Blaster done (rotated, so they are shooting against the other blasters)
24/03 2 panels missing (sword and symbols)
24/03 Mirrored the sword, and messed up the border, but have decided to leave it in the interest of being done.

I felt like I was flying through at the end, but it was more a question of powering through. I got stubborn because I could see the finish line.

Tried a different bind off this time, not perfectly satisfied, sort of made it up as as I went along, however it will do. The ones I could find by googling were not for me.

Will upload pictures of the final product tomorrow, before wrapping it.
