Another test panel created to test the multicolor function of img2track 2.2. I am utterly thrilled with the ability to input multicolor images to my Brother 930/940/950i and be able to knit in 2-6 colors! Just amazing. Although this test piece is fairly docile in terms of multicolor knitting, it definitely is a successful test of the ability to knit in more than 2 colors with img2track.

In this piece I only used 3 colors, just to save time. I made an operator error at the beginning and did not push in the Part Buttons when I began pattern knitting. As a result, each color knitted on ALL needles. Jeesh! So it shows up as just plain stripes. Well, I’m calling it a design feature.

I much prefer to do my multicolor knitting in Double Bed Jacquard, as it eliminates floats and laddering between colors and makes the resulting image much neater and more uniform.

In this particular piece, I used yarns that were a bit disparate in thickness, with the unintended result that the finished result looks a bit like embossing. The black yarn was the thickest, and so the towers stand out a bit from the rest. Kind of cool.
