Knitted because it’s cold today and I’m wearing a lovely warm knitted top but I have cold wrists.
Hope to knit them in one evening - and I’m not a quick knitter!
Making quite a lot of modifications.
Personal notes for next time I knit them:
CO 32 stitches using Tillybuddy’s Very Stretchy Cast On
Knit 12 cm in K1P1 rib (combination)
With both warmers on needle, for first one K1P1 then Knit into front & back of stitch for next 2 stitches, continue in rib to end of row.
For 2nd warmer K1P1 until last 4 stitches. Knit into front & back of stitch for next 2 stitches, then K1P1.
With this bulky weight yarn the increases show and this will make a nice matching pair of warmers.
Continue knitting on the 34 stitches until 22cm long and cast off loosely in ribbed CO
Using cast on and cast off ends start stitching (mattress), trying on the warmers to get the exact placing for the thumb slit.
Next time, check how the warmers are wearing and stretching and possibly start off casting on 34 stitches and miss out the decrease. Consider going down a needle size for the section on the narrowest part of the wrist
Very pleased though - they’re a good fit, snug enough not to move round, and will cover the bits of my wrists and hands that get cold first.
Nice wool - knitted up well. If it wears well I’d buy more in future
Two photos of finished warmers taken in artificial light - the colour isn’t nearly as good as in the lower 2 photos.
