Notes

The pattern designer, Laura, was very helpful when I was trying to determine what size to make. She got back to me very quickly with answers to all of my questions via her Ravelry Group’s Sweater Support thread. I normally wear a size large in women’s sweaters, as I am quite tall and need the length. But, as this pattern is easy to modify, Laura suggested I knit the size M1 (based on my body measurements) and just add length where needed. This will give me a more fitted sweater, with plenty of length. My actual chest measurements are:
Full Chest (if you can call it that ; ) = 38”
High Chest (under arm pits) = 36”

I love the shoulder construction of this pattern! It’s so unique and seems like it will hold its shape very well over time. While it had the potential to be very confusing, Laura did a beautiful job with this pattern, explaining all of the steps very clearly.

The Nova Worsted yarn knits like a dream! Sooooo soft and squishy. I love it!!! You would think that with all of the colors I have available in my shop, I would choose something other than gray. But, I really wanted a neutral sweater I could wear all the time. I dyed up an extra soft/pale version of the Pewter colorway. I wanted very little variation in tone. I’m really happy with the way it turned out : )

Blogged about here.

Update 1/8/17: The neckline on the sweater never really “sat” correctly. I think I must have picked up too many stitches. Therefore, this sweater sat in my closet, unworn, for years.
I finally ripped it out to try a different finishing method for the neckline. Decided upon an applied/attached i-cord neckline and I love it!!
I used this tutorial for the i-cord edge.
And, this tutorial for grafting the i-cord ends.
