4/16/2014 - Done! So soft. These are shorter - I was worried I was going to run out of yarn with the afterthought heels and not having split the skein in two equal weight balls first. There’s still some left, but it wouldn’t have gotten me much more height.
I think I should knit next fingering weight socks just a little smaller around, and I definitely need to remember to do the ribbed cuff in a smaller needle size.
Sometimes these look really pink, sometimes all the colors blend together and they aren’t too girly.
The two socks definitely had the colors pool (or not pool) differently. Not a complaint - both are busy enough, and the pools aren’t overwhelming, so it’s ok. I guess this might be where someone would want to knit from both ends of the yarn, alternating rows.
4/8/2014 - Still making progress on these, but it’s slower going since I interrupted with the Aran weight socks (started and finished super fast), plus had to finish the Verdant Gryphon Eidos socks.
Looks like I forgot to track how many stitches I cast on, and how wide I made them. Means I’ll have to go back and count stitches before starting the second sock.
Just knit past where the heel will go - I knit with waste yarn where I plan on putting the heel, which was about 78 rows from toe-tip.
Definitely need to remember to CO even number of stitches. Whenever I do an odd CO like this, then I feel the need to get it back to an even number somewhere - this shoes just a short way up the toes were I k2tog dead center on top and bottom of foot.
This yarn is seriously soft! Between that and the colorway seeming way more pink once I started knitting it up, I’m referring to these as my “princess socks”. They may just be bed socks - between the softness, all the pink, and the fact that I’m thinking I knit them a hair on the wide side.

Knitting another pair of socks on this yarn, so went back to count. Looks like :
Cast on : 15 total across
Increase to : 36x2
These are a little big all around, so both numbers should be decreased, but can stay on US1 because the fabric has good drape.
