Notes

Test knitting Lindsay’s first design using my own hand-dyed yarn.

2 May 10: Using 3.75mm needles since my yarn is lighter than the STR Mediumweight that Lindsay used.

Working up alright so far. It could be my knitting but the centre panel seems wonky so I knit/frog 3 times already. I think the placement of the markers may have something to do with it. I wanted to ditch the markers but that would not be fair to Lindsay nor the pattern. I’m knitting on…

ETA: I figured it out I think. I kept the YOs in the centre section inside the two markers. I now have a proper triangle growing in the centre section matched by two triangles on the sides.

15 May 10: Done! This was an absolute pleasure to knit!

My Observations:
1. The stockinette section is a breeze esp as you are increasing 6sts every 2 rows. Would come out bigger if you have a heavier weight yarn.

  1. The lace section gets quite intuitive as you go along so no need to look at the chart every time.

  2. I love the shape of the final shawl but would probably use larger needles next time as the top edge is not loose or long enough to wrap around the neck, bandana style.

But this is one amazing shawl. Highly recommended! ♥♥♥
