Doing a mini-KAL with missdaisy and practicing for Stashdown!2011.

8 Oct 10: Cast on 104 and ribbed with 4mm then switched to 5mm. Cabling without a cable needle and it seems to work, so far. Done one repeat as I promised to wait for Brenda.

10 Oct 10: Halfway through 3rd repeat now, so much fun!

11 Oct 10: Midday of Day 4 and I am halfway through repeat #4. Much as I want to just keep going, I’m putting this down as soon as I get to Round 8. It’s still fun and I can do this now without focusing on the stitches all the time. I can even watch TV while cabling!

12 Oc 10: Doing 5th repeat as my son wanted it to cover his ears. Looks like it’s okay, but could have done with another repeat really.

13 Oct 10: Decreasing today - woohooo! Aaaand DONE!

This has been a big step up for me, knitting-wise. I have been so scared of this pattern for so long and wondered how other knitters have done more than 2 or 3 or even 7 of this hat! Thanks to Brenda for “holding my hand” throughout this fun mini-KAL. I can’t wait to see your beautiful red Malabrigo Koolhaas!

PS: Are we ready to throw away our cable needles then? :)
