Started this with another yarn but not looking good. So I picked the first skein of STR I could grab and glad it was this.

19 Aug 2011: Cast on with 2.5s since this is what how I get my magic sock gauge with STR LW. Although the pattern says gauge is 30sts/4in, I just hope I don’t end up with too large socks.

20 Aug 2011: Sock #1 done. The heel flap as written is too long and I was tempted to decrease the gusset until I had only 60sts left but it would have been an awful looking sock. Kept to the pattern anyway but used a rounded toe decrease instead. I love it!

One mistake I made was omitting an entire set of cables (rows 5-10) so I have a shorter repeat. Worked out well though as both leg and foot would have been too long for me.

18 Sept 2011: Picked this up again. Had the burning desire to finish this pair so that I can cast on a new sock project. Plus I need to free up a 2.5 needle!

19 Sept 2011: Done! I was afraid I’d run out of yarn! Phew! Love the cushy feeling of the socks and the cables are so much fun to do.
