Using my hand-dyed (hopefully) self-stiping yarn.

Basic construction plan:
Cuff down, plain vanilla socks.
Cast on 60sts, 2x2 rib for about 2inches.
Plain stockinette for leg, slipped stitch gusset heel.
Plain foot, wedge toe.

26 Oct 2010: Cast on! And I had to rip and restart because the cuff was tight. Doh. I am happy to report however that self-striping was achieved - yay! Let’s see how that holds up with the stretchier cast on.

27 Oct 2010: And self-striping has been achieved! I am working on the foot of the first sock now and glad that the slip-stitch heel didn’t break up much of the striping. I cast on the second sock - looks matchy-matchy so far.

29 Oct 2010: Done! There was a bit of shift in the colours at the heel of the second sock but it all came okay down the foot.

This has been a great exercise, from dyeing the yarn to knitting it. I will revise the striping sequence, make it one or two rows wider and see how I get on.
