Notes

Two online friends found out that I knit so they asked if I would knit them a pair each of these. It was a challenge and I accepted. The yarn shipment got delayed: I ordered in April 08 and they arrived in July 08. It was a good thing because I was away on holiday then.

I tried using DPNs but I keep getting ladders so I frogged, twice, and put the project aside, twice. But now that winter is almost here and I want to get started with my Christmas presents for friends overseas, I decided to rethink the project and cast on using the Magic Loop.

Thanks to Christina Slattery for allowing me to transcribe her chart pattern for this project. I promise one of these days I will learn to knit using a chart!

I frogged the whole thing! Because I made a mistake and apparently unraveling alpaca is difficult so I just decided to start from scratch because now I know the mistakes to avoid.

Done! The wristwarmers are being dried right now and will be popped into the mail for Sarah soon.

I don’t like this alpaca yarn, it’s very hairy and splitty but it is warm. Also not sure why the centre of the diamonds tend to fold up like that. I am not a tight knitter so I doubt if it had anything to do with tension. Once you wear the wristwarmers they obviously stretch out anyway.

Definitely doing a few more pairs of these!
