29 May 2011: Test knit for Carrie’s new design. Pattern to be published soon. Decided to knit the large size (268 sts) since I have 2 skeins of this yarn.

Started out well, but 4 rows shy of the end of the border, I found out that I twisted my join so I ended up with a moebius! Frogged and restarted. Pattern is easy to memorize, entertaining but simple enough to watch TV while knitting.

7 Jun 2011: After a few trips to the frog pond for a few rows, my mistake and not the design, I finished the scarf last night. I undid the cast off row again this morning because it was too tight despite my attempt to bind off loosely. I knew it was going to bug me so I undid it and now very happy with it.

Because I used 5mm needles instead of US5 as indicated on the pattern (doh!), I ended up with a scarf 34.5” long and 9.5” wide. Which is a nice size and I can wrap it around my neck twice and still end up loose.
