Gauge unwashed: 2 inches = 9 stitches, 12 rows in SS.

Casting on 104, Old Norwegan, four rows of ribbing, 11 orange, 20 yellow, reduce in 8 sections of k11 k2tog, 24 wide ear flap centered on middle of hat. Slipped first stitch of ear flap for straight part. Using p2tog through back loops on wrong side instead of reverse ssk on right side.

Traveling loop 40 inch Chiagoo Red Lace switching to magic loop for crown of hat. Had to add 16 cable to do magic loop for crown comfortably.

8/4/2014 2.5 inch pom pom on. Need to do ear flaps, sew in ends, and voila. It’s a little bit bigger than intended, but at least it isn’t too tight. I think 100 stitches would have been the sweet spot, and maybe a row or two less yellow.

Created cord out of overtwisted three yarn strands for tails, will attach to corners or ear flaps and then just need to weave in the last of the ends. Nearly done.

Just finishing the ends today. Bright shiny object syndrome applies to knitting, too! Pictures soon, maybe today or tomorrow.

Drat. I need to weigh my left over yarn to figure out how much I used in this project. Drat drat drat. I already pitched it upstairs into the sweater bags. You only need 1 skein of each color to make a single hat. You can make two hats if you buy 1 extra skein of yellow.
