Cast on 81. I’m knitting this flat.

You cast on 80 stitches, but by the time you decrease a couple of times, you’re down to 60. That’s too tight a circumference for my smallest circulars. I don’t like DPNs, and I don’t particularly want to fiddle with magic loop or two circulars. I figure one straight seam at the end won’t kill me. It’ll be on the top part of the snood, with the gap for the leash being created by the opening I’ll leave in the seam. Knitting flat, I’m finding this much easier on my hands--and it’s moving faster, too.

I got a lot done on Saturday, knitting as I rode to Birmingham to visit the adoption kennel and racing kennels there. And I met my Silver’s half sister, TDS Daisy, currently racing at Birmingham for Lomax Kennels. Daisy is shown in the side view. Silver is in the front view. Their sire is Lonesome Cry.

24 August 2012: Knitting is finished. Need to seam it and weave ends and take photos.

25 August 2012: Photos made, although the actual color is much brighter…might try another set. The snood took 69.4 grams, leaving 69 grams.
