I have a deadline to finish this by the time I visit my grandmother in New Hampshire. I go there Aug 3, and might have to block the work while I’m there. I hope I find a convenient way to do so at my aunt’s house without imposing on her. I leave the area on the 7th, so I definitely hope to give it to her by the 6th at the latest.
I made quite a few mistakes and frogged back a few rows, but I did that many times. It has been driving me insane. This is the second time I’ve made a lace project, and it is so much bigger than the first. The amount of possibility for mistakes makes this one of the most difficult projects I’ve done.
9/17 - I learned a very valuable lesson during this project. And that was the importance of an elastic bind off. I thought I was doing an elastic bind off, completed it, blocked it, and the border was so tight, not only were the ruffles nonexistent, it was pinching so tight it was curving up like a pouch, if that makes sense. I couldn’t deal, and took out that binding and did another one, the correct one, that I hadn’t noticed in the pattern. I noticed the correct bind off took twice as much yarn, no wonder it was so tight! I’ll block it now… I’m hoping for much better results.
9/22 - Finished! Gotta wait for the sun to come back out when I have a smidgen of time to take a few photos. Posted, new FO!
9/25 - I’m posting on the Weekly Work In Progress Wednesday thread on Reddit.com. Decided I’d comment on the nice sunny day I had to take that photo (that’s me guys!) I tried to send it to Grandma today, but, my phone broke and I didn’t have the address while I was at the post office. As this project is officially over, I’d love to hear comments, if you have any!
