Notes

This was a test knit for BabyCocktails and I made some modifications. My modifications were similar to what other testers did and so these changes are being added to the final pattern. They are simple changes such as adding shaping and moving a few more stitches from the body to the sleeve when you separate for the sleeves. I also added extra length.

So, this is a great pattern. Very well written. What I like especially is the designer shows you exactly where you could add shaping if you want it, where and how to get the fit you want. She wants you to have your perfect fit and gives you all the details about how to go about doing this. I think that if you are unsure about how to shape a sweater, this pattern will give you a better insight on how to go about it.

I’m crazy about boatnecks and this is the best I have made. Boatnecks are tricky and can fall off the shoulder or ride too high on the neck, but this fit is perfect.

I positively love All Seasons Cotton but find it knits best as a worsted weight rather than aran weight as Rowan suggests. I used size 6 needles rather than the recommended 7, 8 or 9. My gauge was tighter than the pattern, so I knit between the 32 and 34 size and ended up with a 32”. I could even see knitting this yarn with a size 5 needle, I’ll try that next time.

I have more details here on my blog.
