This turned about to be an adorable sweater in the end. Unfortunately the pattern was very difficult to follow and I had a heck of a time working it out. Feather and Fan is simple enough, but the counts for the raglan decreases while doing the lace pattern were way off in the pattern, at least in the xs size. Many people have had problems with this pattern. I contacted Kelbourne Woolens and told them specifically in the pattern where the counts started to go off and they said they would get back to me. They have not, and that was months ago, disappointing. I slogged away, getting help from other super kind knitters here at Rav., particularly barbskates who actually called me on a Saturday morning to help this poor knitter out! She said she had contacted Kelbourne too and she thought they had fixed the pattern. Several other knitters contacted me through Rav and told me they had just given up. So what I did was just make it up as I went along and ignored the pattern.

Now with all that said, I have to say the the designer, Jenny, contacted me several times and was very upset and concerned that I had so many problems with the pattern. She told me that she wrote up her pattern and gave it to Kelbourne, and I’m thinking that it is the publishers responsibility to vet the pattern. I don’t know the process it takes with getting a pattern ready, but Kelbourne is selling it and should be responsible for it being correct. Off my chest, now on to the positives.

My granddaughter just loves it and she looks adorable in it. It is very young and Anthropoligie-like and so all is well in the end.

The yarn is sublime. Very soft and easy to knit. I used the pointy Addi lace needles with this and was a great fit!
