An ode to the hit TV show LOST. Jacob, the mysterious Island leader spins and weaves a tapestry of lives on the show.

Cast on 324 stitches, the original number of passengers on Oceanic 815. Using 6.5 mm needles, for the Oceanic 6 (the .5 is Aaron…heh).

The handspun was made out Jacob sheep fleece, so I thought it was appropriate. I knit it together with the darker grey cashmere/silk blend to create an aura of softness and to represent the mysterious way that Jacob, the Man in Black/Smoke Monster are linked together. It’s just an added, unexpected boon that the darker grey’s colorway is “Smoke.” Hee.

I ran out of the “smoke” yarn so this project is on hold until it arrives. Here’s hoping it gets here before the end of May!

The yarn arrived after end of Lost, so I’m planning a “rewatch” to finish up this scarf.

Ok, I didn’t rewarch it (it’s still too soon for that sort of thing) so instead I just knit this while I watched other “geeky” type things like Stargate Universe and The Guild. For the record, knitting with this thick of a yarn at this tight of a needle gauge was a PAIN IN THE ASS and made it take sooo much longer than it should have. Also, my hand hurts. But the scarf looks hot. For being a grey color. And being made of scratchy yarn. Hmm.
