Notes

I have no idea how this is going to work, since I’m using fingering weight held doubled alongside two laceweight strands of mohair and a single strand of sportweight.I know, I know, it’s a lot of remnants that I decided to recycle into a pair of slippers. We shall see…

Dear Lord. I nearly ran out of the Jelly Stains yarn, and actually had to cut pieces off of my cast-on and cast-off ends to make the color flow at the end of the last half-inch of the fourth slipper side.

I also had to unknit the straps, which I had made first, to make my yarn stretch. The tops and bottoms are now going to be white. I know, I know…white slippers…what am I thinking?! I am thinking these might be gifts for someone who has more carpet in their house and less of a bad record with white shoes.

Sides: two strands of mohair, one strand sportweight, two strands fingering weight, all held together

Straps: two strands of mohair, two strands of sportweight held together

Bottoms: two strands of worsted weight, two strands of mohair held together.

It only took me a few days to knit it all together but I didn’t sew it up or felt it for months. And then when I did, it didn’t shrink properly, so it is more suited for someone a size 11!
