I bought the yarn in June as a part of a shawl-yarn pack from Titityy. I hadn’t planned on using it to make one of this summer’s 2 wedding shawls, but the shade of green complements my bespoke silk dress like a dream, so I thought I might as well knit it up now. Also, I’ll likely need something to cover my shoulders with at next month’s Catholic service in Poland and the shape of the pattern will likely make Damson perfect for the job.

Starting a month before it needs to be finished should also give me enough time to finish the shawl, without turning myself into a nervous wreck.

July 25th: Spent the first week (July 18th-today) on the garter section, and just started with the scallop lace, after having to tink back a row a few times. Also joined in the 2nd skein of yarn near the beginning of the 2nd RS row of the scallop lace chart.

July 27th: Due to an inability to realise the difference between the instructions for rows 73 and 75, much ripping ensued. Luckily, this should fix the problem I had and hopefully I can continue without further delays now.

July 31st: Finished binding off. Used all of the Tussah Tweed, plus a few metres of a darker green laceweight to finish the bind-off.
