9/9/10: Waiting for Squidot… to be knitted! (In progress! Yay!)
9/12/10: I’ve been working on this for four days. I’ve watched a lot of Daria, and I’ve done a lot of knitting. Three short tentacles down, five to go! I just hope I have enough yarn…
9/17/10: Five out of eight short tentacles done! Woo! Also… check out that sweet progress pic. I should be sleeping, but my evil genius wouldn’t let me until I did this…
9/28/10: Eight short tentacles done. I’d be further along, except I’m having difficulties finding a foam ball. Once I find one, though, I’ll be back in business!
1/4/11: After a few months of working on other projects and giving up on the foam ball, I have returned to the squid! I made his eyes by doing a little improvisation on the pattern’s idea. Basically, each eye is a little bag that I stuffed and tied up, and then I made a cup out of the red yarn that the eye can nestle in. It looks very similar to the pictures, but slightly different. I thought it was easier. Anyway, the eyes are now attached, and I’m working on really long tentacle #1! It’s so awesome, but I will say - it’s HUGE! That makes it a little hard to work on, but I will be so happy when this thing is done and I can cuddle with my giant squid!
1/17/11: In hibernation again. I need to buy one more skein of yarn, and then I think I’ll be able to complete Squidot! He now has all his tentacles, and about half of his mantle complete. Sweet!
4/5/11: The mantle is done! All I need to do is stuff and stitch Squidot, and he’s complete! I’m SO excited about this!
4/7/11: Squidot is complete! He is so freaking huge and awesome!
